Ronald Day and his Reslight dishonesty

About this latest posting , I felt a need to answer Ronald Day on his very dishonest Reslight site

A Unitarian, (Non JW) But with one caveat, I Lump him with them as they use the same weak arguments and simply point to the real humanity of Jesus much the same way I do in dealing with trinitarain's as I feel that is the weakest link in trinitarian argumentation..

Ronald clearly ignores passages that state Jesus in his real humanity was made the One Life giving Spirit. And limits the spirit given without measure(John 3:34) To do so in any respect is limiting, he simply denies the passage in rebuttal without any argument whatsoever in a link on this page. Ronald Day is completely oblivious to the fact that he limits the spirit given and goes headlong into ignornace and continues with his nonargument.

Ronald Day
“Regardless, the fact that the only true God has given to another His holy spirit without measure does not in any way mean that Jesus ever was, is, or that he will ever be, the only true God who has given to Jesus. The very fact is that only true God would already have his holy spirit without measure, and would not need to be given the holy spirit at all. The very fact is that since Jesus was given this holy spirit by the only true God proves that Jesus is not the only true God who gave the holy spirit to him”.

mlculwell:
Ronald Day Makes a pretty sorry attempt at (John 3:34) in my estimation in two areas, One is he first measures the spirit given to the only begotten son where the passage specifically reads it was *given without measure* which is obviously measuring the spirit given, to take away in any respect is measuring the spirit given…

Response from Ronald Day

I have updated the post at:
http://godandson.reslight.net/?p=88
in an effort to distinguish the oneness and trinitarian assumptions. I may yet update the post with more information.

Ronald then focuses on the term *given* and attempts to make the point that God does not have to be given anything and that would be absolutely correct! It should be noted that Ronald like many Democrats try to present problems where none exist so that they come in and save the day and end up looking like the Hero, But nobody is talking about" God being given anything," God already is Spirit(John 4:24) God has no need to be given anything, that is why he is God. If we being parents know how to give good gifts to our children, how much more the father to his only begotten? Jesus was a limited man who could do nothing in and of himself(John 5:30) but the father in him he doeth the works(John 14:10) It seems that Ronald is trying to fight the trinitarian doctrine of “god the son” whom he mistakenly thinks Oneness also must believe, but instead of dealing with our specific doctrine Ronald goes fighting windmills like Don Quixote. My suggestion to you Ronald is next time please do not attribute doctrines to Oneness believers that we do not ascribe. The passages that say he was given and made are as follows:

Jesus was given All Power in both heaven and earth(Matth.28:18)If Jesus has All Power then there is None left for anyone else to have! Remember Jesus has it ALL in both heaven and earth and nothing is said about power being shared between three persons!

Ronald Day’s response to the above: And it is evident that the One who has given the all in power to Jesus is excepted. — 1 Corinthians 15:27

Ronald goes to a passage and only quotes part of the passage the sonship has simply finished what he set out to do when Jesus said it is finished he puts down all rule and authority as son and is simply known as God, where he delivers up the kingdom to God even the father. (Eph. 5:27) states that he might present it TO* HIMSELF A GLORIOUS EKKLESIA* without spot or wrinkle.Jesus is now that father and that One Spirit in you the hope of glory.

Jesus was given the spirit by no measure or limit.(John 3:34)

Ronald Day’s response to the above: This does not say that Jesus was given the power of being the Most High, his Father.

Jesus was made the life giving spirit(1st. Cor. 15:45)

Ronald Day’s response to the above: Yes, Jesus is now, since his resurrection, the life-giving spirit. This does not mean that Jesus has become his God and his Father.

Now the Lord is that spirit (2nd Cor. 3:17) which Lord? Jesus was MADE both Lord and
Christ (Acts 2:36) How was he made Lord? By the spirit dwelling in him without measure and
is his power and possession without limits.

Response to the above by Ronald Day: Yes, the only true God has made Jesus both Lord and Christ, and by the spirit of his God dwelling in him he has the plentitude of might to carry out what his Father has given him to do. There is nothing in any of this that means that Jesus became his Father.
